Since and Because

Many people use “since” and “because” like synonyms.  And, frankly, few people are ever going to know the difference... or care.  But then, that is true for grammar in general, which just makes it that much easier for those of us who like to feel superior because we do know the difference.  And there is a difference.  “Because” tells why; “Since” tells when – from that time forward.  More...

How to Document Online Video Clips

Because you asked!  Since you got it from a website, then you will document it just like any other web source.  If there is a known writer or director, you would list that person as the author.  The title of the clip would be the article title.  If a date is given, that would be next.  Then the title of the website, the date accessed, and the URL.

Which really sounds like it would be a cool video, right?  I mean, you think a platypus is going to be fighting some gigantic poisonous Australian snake, but the platypus and the snake aren’t even together in any of the clips.  It’s just a platypus, and then a snake.  Of course, the platypus is kinda cool.  But overall, it was disappointing.

Level of Proof

Having a level of proof is your knowing what it takes for you to be convinced that any given belief you may hold is wrong.  For instance, I believe in evolution.  The evidence is too overwhelming not to.  However, I do have a level of proof.  If you can produce the fossilized bones of a Jersey Cow, then I will be convinced that evolution is wrong, at least, as I have come to understand it.  On the other hand, your showing me that carbon dating can be incorrect is not good enough for me throw out all the other evidence.  Carbon dating is minor, and there are many other ways to determine how old something is.  Besides, carbon dating is fairly accurate... but only when it is used to measure what it was designed to measure.  More...
