Played on March 10, 2015.  9 Holes.

This is a very pretty park on the banks of the North Yamhill River.  The course itself is OK, as in I’d play it if I lived here, but the biggest challenge is getting a putt to stick in the baskets, which were made with large truck wheels as the base.  The holes are rather short, and the course is pretty much wide open, with a tree or two that might nominally come into play.  One good thing is that the course is well marked.

Directions:  From Herbert Hoover Park in Newberg, take River St. to 219 (First St.) and go left on 219 and then left on Hancock St., which is also 219.  You should be going west by now.  Stay on Hancock until you get to Main St. (also 240).  Go right (north) on 240 and go about six miles.  Take a left on NE Kuehne Rd. which, in about two miles will wind around and become NE Hendricks Rd.  In about 3 miles, Hendricks Rd. becomes Main St. in Carlton.  Shortly thereafter, take a left on S. Cunningham, and then in a block take a right on W. Grant.  W. Grant doesn’t go far before it winds to the left and becomes S. River St. (River is a popular name for streets), and that will take you into the park.

From there I went to Wortman Park in McMinnville.
