Played on March 10, 2015. 12 Holes.
This is a nice park It has a pretty large skateboarding
park and BMX bike racing, as well as picnic areas, a playground, and a dog park. However, the disc golf course is a
bit of a mystery. The map helped a bit, and once I figured out where the number two tee pad was, the whole course played
logically, which is good, because nothing is really marked that well.
The course plays in and out of a valley with a creek at the bottom. Though the creek only comes in
play if you’re really bad, the course in general was a bit sloppy. There are several good holes, including change
of elevation and playing in the woods for a bit, and there is a good variation of distance, but for the most part it’s
pretty open. If Newberg were close, say, closer than Pier Park, it would be worth playing again.
Directions: From Portland, take I-5 South to Exit 289 (SW Tualatin
/ Sherwood Road). Take a left on 99W (south) which is also called Portland Road and into Newburg proper. Take
a left on Blaine St. Blaine St. will take you to the park, on your right
From there I headed to Herbert Hoover Park, which is also in Newberg.
