Played on April 9, 2015.  Nine holes.

I’ve played some easy courses before, but this was ridiculous.  The first (and probably only) time I played South Beach, I threw a nine-under on nine holes (yup, I birdied them all).  And even so, I was disappointed.  I’ve made longer putts than some of the “drives.”  The shortest was 51 feet, and the longest was 198, with no change in elevation, no water, and very few trees.  Not much of a challenge.  This would be a great course to bring an eight year old to.  But unless you’re just wanting to feel good about your game... why bother?

Directions:  It’s well over 100 miles southwest from Portland, but I started in Newberg.  From Newberg, take 99W south.  99W becomes 18, and 18 becomes 22, and 22 will take you to 101, where you go South.  In about 30 miles, look for the sign to South Beach State Park.  Or not.  You could just spend your time looking at whales along the way.

From there, since I was in the neighborhood, I went to Wilder.
